The earlier photographs on this site have been taken with a 2 megapixel Nikon Coolpix 2100 digital camera which was a very good camera apart from being a bit slow and having too much image noise in some situations. Unfortunately, it did not cope very well with being bashed off a rock and dropped into Strangford Lough :-( . The replacement was a Fuji S9500 digital, and most of the more recent photos on this web site were taken with it until.... The command dial broke, and I replaced it with a Fuji S9600/S9100 in the summer of 2007..I then replaced this with a Sony Alpha A350 Digital SLR in March 2008. Since this camera uses a different aspect ratio to the other cameras (3:2 as opposed to 4:3) - any photos added after this date will be slightly wider e.g. 1154x768 pixels.

What Is A Desktop Background (or PC Wallpaper)?
It is the background picture you will see every time you start your PC, and when you minimise any windows you may have open.

How Do I Set My Desktop Background (or PC Wallpaper)?
Click on the thumbnail (small) picture, then once the larger picture has loaded, right click on it, and then select 'Set As Background' or 'Set as Wallpaper' from the menu that appears. You can then close the window containing the large picture.

(Firefox Browser Users) : - After right clicking on the image, you will need to select 'Set As Wallpaper'

(Opera Browser Users) : - After right clicking on the image, you will need to select 'Use Image As', 'Desktop Background'

(Apple Mac Users) : - Hope you don't mind the Windows bias on my web site. Here are some Mac based instructions that I found somewhere on the Internet. Apologies if they are incorrect or out of date.......
Place your mouse over the image. Hold down the mouse button until a menu appears. Select " save image as" to save the image to your hard drive. Open the control panel " Desktop Pictures" . Click remove picture and then click select picture. Load new wallpaper from where you saved the image on your computer.

(Linux Users) : - I am assuming that you know what you are doing :-)

Why Is This Site So Slow To Load?
If you are not using a broadband connection, then you have probably noticed that it takes in excess of 30 seconds to download the page. I know this is annoying, and I am very sorry about this. I have tried to minimise loading time by making the file size of the thumbnails as small as possible.
